LOCATION
The club is located in Whiteman Park, a major recreational and conservation park that is about 22km north of the Perth CBD. Entry to the WA Model Aircraft Sports Centre (WAMASC) including the Control Line site (CLAW) is from Beechboro Road. The same entry road is shared with the Keith Maine Youth Camp and our location can also be found in any Perth metropolitan street directory.

AIRCRAFT CONTROLS
Most of our flying is by aircraft that are connected by control wires from the model to a handle, which the pilot controls (Control Line). Some of our members even fly Free Flight, which are models that are trimmed to fly by themselves. Free Flight flying usually takes place at the country town of Meckering, some 130km east of Perth.
CLUB AWARDS
Over the years the club has produced a number of National Champions in various categories of control line competition flying. Four of our members competed in the 1984 Control line World Championships held in the USA and the team attained third place in FAI combat.

In 2006 one of our members, Mr Ian Thompson with mechanic Ray Harvey placed ninth overall in F2C, and the Australian Team took out second place team honours in the F2C team race team event at the 2006 Control Line world Championships held at Valladolid, Spain.
FLYING FOR FUN
Not all flying is competition related and we cater for the sport flyer as well as the beginner.
Anyone wishing to experience the thrill of flying their own control line aircraft should contact any of the members present today. Beginners are more than welcome to come down to our field.
