INTRODUCTION
T
he Mercurians Club is dedicated to promoting the flying of Control Line model aircraft.

The club is based in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Most members fly their aircraft at the Control Line Aeromodellers of WA (CLAW) site located within the WA Model Aircraft Sports Centre (WAMASC) at Whiteman Park. The WAMASC complex is made up of four radio control clubs, one gas turbine club, one helicopter club and the control line club. Flying can take place from 8am until sunset, seven days a week and total membership is approximately 150 members.

CONTROL LINE AEROMODELLERS OF WA
CLAW is an amalgamation of a number of members from two of the Perth based control line clubs, Mercurians and TARMAC. Modern facilities for control line flying include a concrete hard racing circle and an adjacent grass flying circle.

WHITEMAN PARK
Whiteman Park
is a major bushland and wetland conservational regional park and is also a large recreational park featuring a village, transportion museums, trams & train rides, bbq's, mussel pool, playgrounds and of course a model aircraft facility. The park is centred on the picturesque Swan Valley and is about a 25 minute drive or 22km from the Perth CDB. The Swan Valley is Australia's oldest wine growing region.
